Welcome! My name is Alanna. Not “Alanna the Warrior”, like the books from Tamora Pierce. I am “Alanna the Artist”, a Massachusetts based graphic designer who has brown hair, glasses, two arms, two legs, one kidney, and an affinity for the outdoors, DC Comics, and, of course, Graphic Design!
I am currently employed at Ashworth Awards in North Attleboro, MA. Much like some of the marathons and racing events we serve, the work environment is fast paced and deadline-driven. I work with a small, yet amazing, team of designers to conceptualize and develop medallions, plaques, and other award products based on directions given by the Sales Representatives. Although we work quickly, we always ensure high quality standards and maintain an upbeat office environment. Since Ashworth Awards serves a variety of clients (from big name companies to small-town events), I have had the pleasure of designing in a wide range of styles and genres: from minimalist and modern to wacky children’s characters!
Speaking of wacky products: I was previously employed at Rhode Island Novelty in Fall River, MA. While there, I worked with a team of five other designers to develop products and packaging for children’s novelty toys, gifts, souvenirs, decor, and party supplies for wholesale and consumer markets. Some of these fun toys and designs can be found throughout my portfolio!
While perusing my portfolio, you will notice several movie posters. From 2010 to 2018, I worked as a graphic designer, and later, manager, for Bridgewater State University’s student design team. The team created marketing collateral for on-campus organizations and departments. After graduation, I worked as a contracted graphic designer to create movie posters for the students who won Campus MovieFest.
So whether I’m designing movie posters, developing rubber animals for claw machines, creating race medals and plaques, or working in any other area of design, I am a conscientious employee who has great enthusiasm and drive for what I do.
